I have a special fondness for haikus. Some friends and I had a Haikufest a couple years ago. It started with one unintentional blog post, and ended up with about 120 (I think) in the course of 3 days.
We made a book to commemorate the occasion: (http://www.cafepress.com/cmage.53042461)
Set in 1963, The Long Black Veil tells the story of a drifter and a little girl as their friendship provides counterpoint to a love affair between a black musician and a married white woman. Jamie Delacroix has spent his adulthood running away from the past and any emotional commitments until brilliant but lonely Jane Novotny worms her way into his life. Calvin Lewis and Eve Novotny—Jane’s mother—have been friends since they were children, but only recently admitted their passion for one another. When Jamie stumbles across their affair, he sets in motion a chain reaction that risks the destruction of Jane’s family—and costs Calvin his life.

Genius.
You always make me smile! Thanks for the laugh! (I needed it after judging for this scholarship and reading too many essays...)
